Some men preferentially make more estrogen out of testosterone. But if one is overweight, stressed, inflammed, older (and wiser), then more estrogen production from testosterone will be the result.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment on our blog. However, based on what you've described here, the best approach to lower estrone is to focus on the source as well as your metabolism.

A potential source of the high estrone is estradiol, a common component of BHRT as bi-est or an older tri-est that actually contains estrone. Environmental xenoestrogens could also be a source.

My recommendation is that you lower your environmental xenoestrogen exposure and continue to aid the removal of estrone via cruciferous vegetables.

Thanks for your comment and best wishes to you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Re: All Estrogens Are Not Created Equal

Hi ~ I am a 45 year old woman who had a hysterctomy with bso at 38 for stage 4 endometriosis. I am very thin, bordering on underweight, but my estrone levels are high. I take bio-identical hrt and have since the hysterectomy. I had a return or regrowth of the endo even after the hysterectomy. My main question though is being a thin woman who exercises regularly and eats a vegan highly unprocessed diet...why would my estrone be so high and how do I naturally lower it?

Re: The Paleo Diet: Back to Basics

Thanks for the article - for anyone out there who is on the fence about this is the way of eating this is definitely the way to get lean and healthy.
